Proper sleep can give you numbers of health benefits, but sometimes, sleeping positions can hinder you from having proper rest. Certain positions when you sleep, can minimize or maximize the risk of numerous problems.

Sleeping on the back
Sleeping on the back, this position can help your spine and neck healthy, and it is the best position if you are always having stiff neck and back muscles, it is also recommended by doctors.
Sleeping on the side
Sleeping on the side is good if you are suffering from apnea or snoring. This helps the spine to stay aligned and avoid back pain. On the other hand, it can give wrinkles on the face and saggy breast.
Sleeping on the stomach
Sleeping on the stomach is not proposed because of these reasons. The position can put too much pressure on your back and it will make your arms and legs numb. It can also restrain breathing as your neck is strained too much.
Fetal position
Fetal position wont do any good for your health. It retrict your breathing and give you back and neck problems. It can also increase the stress level and make you worry more, said by experts.
Pillow cuddling
Pillow cuddling is good specially for people who have back pain. Putting pillow beneath your hips to lessen the pressure on your joints.
Arms up while sleeping on the back
Also known as starfish position is beneficial for your back and can help for people snoring and acid reflux. But if you have shoulder pain, it is not advisable to sleep in this position. If your shoulder hurts, you can put some pillow underneath and below.
Sleeping on the edge of the bed away from each other
This sleeping position is said to be you and your partner are in healthy relationship. Although the position is also called pre-divorce position, unless it has done purposely, it symbols the exact opposite.
Spooning
Spooning can help relieve stress, but can also cause different kinds of aches and pains. Psychologists say, the position can help both partners lessen stress, but known to be a little painful.
Couples facing each other
This position is called intimate position for couples sleeping facing each other.
Back to back with no contact
The position can mean relationship problems, this isn’t by default. Some people sleep in this position after they had a long and hard day at work, means nothing.
